Implementation of eKYC for First Time Login on CIMB OCTO App

 

Dear valued customers,

 

Effective 6 October 2025, all new or existing CIMB OCTO App users who perform First Time Login (FTL) on a new device or reset the device will be required to complete eKYC (electronic Know Your Customer) verification process. This is part of our continuous efforts to further strengthen your online banking security and minimise fraud risks, in line with regulatory measures against financial scams.

 

What You Need to Know:

  • First Time Login (FTL) will only be completed after a 12-hour cooling-off period.
  • You'll be notified via SMS once the 12-hours have ended and you can then access CIMB OCTO App.
  • The eKYC verification process includes document verification and facial recognition.
  • The process is simple, secure, and can be completed fully online.
  • eKYC currently supports only MyKad as a valid identification document.
  • Non-supported IDs are required to visit the nearest branch for KYC verification.
