Notice of amendments to CIMB Bank and CIMB Islamic Bank cardholder Terms and Conditions credit card autobill service

Dear Valued Cardholders,

 

Effective 5 September 2024, the CIMB Bank Cardholder Terms and Conditions Autobill Service clauses (clause 2B. (a) & (f)) and CIMB Islamic Bank Cardholder Terms and Conditions Autobill Service clauses (clause 12.1 & 12.6) will be amended as set out in Table 1 below. The amendments in the clauses are marked in bold and underline for ease of reference.

Clause Current Updated

CIMB Bank Cardholder Terms and Conditions (clause 2B. (a)) and CIMB Islamic Bank Cardholder Terms and Conditions (clause 12.1).

In taking up Autobill Service, the Cardholder authorises the Bank to pay certain bills specified by the Cardholder. The Cardholder must cancel any earlier instructions it has given to (i) other banks or payees to pay the same merchant and/or (ii) the merchant(s) to bill other banks or payees so that double charging does not occur.

In taking up Autobill Service, the Cardholder authorises the Bank to pay certain bills specified by the Cardholder even if the Card has not been activated. The Cardholder must cancel any earlier instructions it has given to (i) other banks or payees to pay the same merchant and/or (ii) the merchant(s) to bill other banks or payees so that double charging does not occur.

CIMB Bank Cardholder Terms and Conditions (clause 2B. (f)) and CIMB Islamic Bank Cardholder Terms and Conditions (clause 12.6). If the Cardholder’s Card number changes, the Cardholder must inform the billing merchant of the change in the Card’s number. The Cardholder however allows the Bank to continue (but Bank is not obliged to do so) to pay the same billing merchant from the Cardholder’s new Card account or number. If the Cardholder’s Card number changes, the Cardholder must inform the billing merchant of the change in the Card’s number. The Cardholder however allows the Bank to continue (but Bank is not obliged to do so) to pay the same billing merchant from the Cardholder’s Card Account including but not limited to replacement, renewed and/or upgraded/downgraded Card which may or may have not been activated.
