Introduction of Manage Card feature on CIMB OCTO App

 

1.   What am I able to do with the new Manage Card feature?

With the new Manage Card feature, you can update your Debit Card settings seamlessly and securely. Refer to the table below on the settings that you can manage on CIMB OCTO App.

 

Debit Card Renewal - Renew your expiring Debit Card through the CIMB OCTO App and have it delivered to you.

 

Debit Card Activation - Activate your new, replacement or renewed CIMB Debit Card.

 

Reset Card PIN - Change or update your Debit Card's 6-digit PIN.

 

Debit Card-Not-Present Transaction - Enable or disable the Card-Not-Present(CNP) function on your Debit Card to perform online transactions.

 

Contactless Payment - Enable or disable the contactless payment feature on your Debit Card, and set a preferred daily accumulative limit for contactless payments.

 

Overseas Spending & Withdrawal - Enable or disable overseas spending and withdrawals on your Debit Card.

 

Debit Card Spend Limit Adjustment - Adjust your Debit Card spend limit seamlessly on the CIMB OCTO App.

 

 

 

2.    Where can I find the Manage Card on CIMB OCTO App?

Step 1: Login to CIMB OCTO App > tap More on the bottom right-hand corner.

 

Step 2: Tap on Services > Manage Card.

 

 

 

3.    Can I use the Manage Card feature when I am overseas?

Yes, as long as you have an internet connection on your mobile device and can access the CIMB OCTO App.

 

 

 

4.    Are there any fees or charges to use the Manage Card feature on CIMB OCTO App?

There are no fees or charges to use this feature.

 

 

5.    I only have CIMB Clicks App. How do I manage my Debit Card?

This feature is available on CIMB OCTO App, you will need to download and activate the CIMB OCTO App before you can manage your Debit Card settings.

 

Step 1: Download the CIMB OCTO App.

 

Step 2: Login with your existing CIMB Clicks ID and password.

 

Step 3: On the homepage, tap on More on the bottom right-hand corner > Services > Manage Card.

 

As a security measure to combat fraud, you will only be able to perform and approve banking transactions via CIMB OCTO App 12 hours after completing First Time Login.

 

Debit Card Renewal

 

6.    How do I request for a renewal for my Debit Card? 

 

Step 1: Login to the CIMB OCTO App > Tap More on the bottom right-hand corner.

 

Step 2: Tap services > Manage Card > Debit Card Renewal > Select Card that has expired to be renewed.

 

Step 3: Confirm the recipient address or update the mailing address.

 

(Note: The address you give will only be used to send you your new Debit Card. If you want to update your mailing address, kindly call our Contact Center/walk to the branch to update it.)

 

Step 4: Review the details and Approve via SecureTAC.

 

Debit Card Activation

 

7.    How do I activate my New / Replacement / Renewed Debit Card?

Follow the steps below to activate your New / Replacement / Renewed Debit Card:

 

Step 1: Login to the CIMB OCTO App > Tap More on the bottom right-hand corner.

 

Step 2: Tap Services > Manage Card > Debit Card Activation > Select Card you wish to activate.

 

Step 3: Tap on Existing PIN OR key in 6-digit New PIN.

 

Step 4: Review details of activation and Approve via SecureTAC.

 

Step 5: Don’t forget to dispose your existing Debit Card by cutting the magnetic strip and chip upon activation of your new card.

 

 

 

8.    I am new to CIMB and do not have access to CIMB Clicks or CIMB OCTO App. Is there any other way I can activate my CIMB Debit Card?


Yes, you may activate your Debit Card & change your PIN via SMS. This method is available to Malaysian and non-Malaysian customers who must have a Malaysian mobile number registered with CIMB.

 

Activation via SMS

Step 1: Send SMS DCA<space>last 4 digits of card number to 68833. e.g. DCA 1234.

 

Step 2: A Temporary PIN will be sent to you via SMS.

 

Step 3: Change your Temporary PIN via either of the following channels:

 1.    Interactive Voice Respond (IVR)

Call the number on the back of your card using your registered mobile number with CIMB > Select language > Select ‘Debit Card First Time PIN Change’. 

 2.    CIMB ATM

Insert your CIMB Debit Card > Enter Temporary PIN > Set your own 6-digit PIN > Re-enter your 6-digit PIN to confirm.

Once your card is activated, you can use your Debit Card number to register for CIMB OCTO App to track and manage your CIMB Debit Card.

 

Reset Card Pin

 

9.    Can I reset my Debit Card PIN on CIMB OCTO App?

Yes, you can:

 

Step 1: Login to the CIMB OCTO App > Tap More on the bottom right-hand corner.

 

Step 2: Tap Services > Manage Card > Reset Card PIN.

 

Step 3: Key in your new 6-digit PIN (this new PIN cannot be the same as your current PIN).

 

(Note: Ensure that you are in a secure location with no one around you when doing this. Select a PIN that is unique and difficult to guess.)

 

Step 4: Review details and Approve via SecureTAC.

Debit Card-Not-Present Transaction

 

10.    How do I enable / disable Card-Not-Present Payment for my Debit Card on CIMB OCTO App?

 

Step 1: Login to CIMB OCTO App > Tap on More on the bottom-right corner.

 

Step 2: Tap Services > Manage Card > Debit Card-Not-Present Transaction.

 

Step 3: Enable/Disable Card-Not-Present Transaction for the selected card > Select “Proceed”.

 

Step 4: Review details and Approve via SecureTAC.

 

Contactless Payment

 

11.    How do I enable / disable Contactless Payment for my Debit Card on CIMB OCTO App?

 

Step 1: Login to CIMB OCTO App > Tap on More on the bottom-right corner.

 

Step 2: Tap Services > Manage Card > Contactless Payment.

 

Step 3: Enable/Disable Contactless Payment for the selected card > Select “Proceed”.

 

Step 4: Review details and Approve via SecureTAC.

 

 

12.    What is the minimum and maximum Daily Limit for Contactless Payment via CIMB OCTO App?

The Daily Limit setting starts from a minimum of RM100 up to a maximum of RM3,000 via CIMB OCTO App. If you wish to increase your daily limit above RM3,000, please call the number at the back of your card.

 

 

 

13.    Can I change the Contactless Payment limit of RM250 per transaction via CIMB OCTO App?

No, the Contactless Payment limit is defaulted to RM250 per transaction and it cannot be changed. If you do not wish to utilise the Contactless Payment, you may disable it by following the steps in Q1 under Contactless Payment.

 

Overseas Spending & Withdrawal

 

14.    I’ll be travelling outside Malaysia soon, do I need to activate overseas spending and withdrawal if I wish to use my CIMB Debit Card? How do I activate this?

Yes, you will need to activate it by following the steps below:

 

Step 1: Login to CIMB OCTO App > Tap on More on the bottom-right hand corner.

 

Step 2: Tap on Services > Manage Card > Overseas Spending & Withdrawal.

 

Step 3: Select the card that you wish to enable/disable for overseas spending and withdrawal permanently. You can also turn on the function temporarily by selecting a Start and End Date.

 

Step 4: Review details and Approve via SecureTAC.

Debit Card Spend Limit Adjustment

 

15.    How do I adjust my Debit Card Spending Limit via CIMB OCTO App?

Step 1: Login to CIMB OCTO App > Tap on More on the bottom-right hand corner.

 

Step 2: Tap on Services > Manage Card > Debit Card Spending.

 

Step 3: Select the card that you wish to adjust the spending limit of.

 

Step 4: Review details and Approve via SecureTAC.
