NOTICE OF SAFEGUARD AND SECURETAC APPROVALS FOR YOUR TRANSACTION FROM CIMB CLICKS WEB OR MERCHANT WEBSITES WITH BIOMETRIC/PASSCODE/PASSWORD

Dear valued customers,

Effective 19 January 2026, selected transactions made via CIMB Clicks Web and merchant websites will require SecureTAC approval.

For these transactions, you will need to approve the transaction using one of the following methods via your CIMB OCTO App:

Biometric authentication (Face ID or fingerprint), or
Your device passcode, or
Your CIMB OCTO App password

Please follow the steps below:

If facial recognition/Face ID/fingerprint is enabled on your device

Step 1: Submit your transaction request via CIMB Clicks Web or merchant website and the push notification will be sent to your CIMB OCTO App on your primary device

Step 2: Tap "SecureTAC" button on the app menu or tap the SecureTAC push notification

Step 3: Verify the transaction and tap “Approve” or “Reject” to proceed

Step 4: Tap "Approve", verify your identity using facial recognition/Face ID/fingerprint

Step 5: Once verified, your transaction will be approved

If facial recognition/Face ID/fingerprint is not enabled on your device or fails

Step 1: Submit your transaction request via CIMB Clicks Web or Merchant Website and the push notification will be sent to your CIMB OCTO App on your primary device

Step 2: Tap "SecureTAC" button on the app menu or tap the SecureTAC push notification

Step 3: Verify the transaction and tap “Approve” or “Reject” to proceed

Step 4: Tap "Approve", verify your identity using Passcode or Password

Step 5: Once verified, your transaction will be approved
