Effective 1 July 2025, the Government has further expanded Sales and Service Tax (“SST”) on certain fees and charges that financial service providers, including CIMB Bank Berhad and CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad, CIMB Investment Bank Berhad and CIMB Securities Sdn. Bhd. (collectively referred as “CIMB”), charge to customers. This is also consistent with the media statement from the Ministry of Finance (“MOF”) issued on 9 June 2025.

SST will be applied at a rate of 8% to fees and charges listed in Appendix A of the Guide on Financial Services (first phase), unless they are specifically exempted. This guide is available on the Royal Malaysian Customs Department ("RMCD/Customs") MySST website.  In the following phase(s), other fees and charges not listed in Appendix A will also be subject to SST unless they are specifically exempted.
