What are Islamic Structured Products?

Islamic Structured Products offered by CIMB are investments that can be fully customisable to meet investors’ personalised investment objectives such as principal protected, diversification, leverage, yield enhancement, access to non-traditional asset classes, conversion and amongst others.

 

These products are designed to provide investors with the opportunity to earn potential return from various market conditions. The potential return from the Structured Products are derived from the performance of the underlying references.

What are the risks? 

Early Redemption Risk

  • If the investment is redeemed prior to maturity, investors may receive less than 100% of the principal amount invested.

 

Market Risk

  • The market value of the investment is affected by various factors which include but are not limited to the price of the underlying reference(s), tenure, interest rates and volatility of the underlying reference(s).

 

Credit Risk

  • The payment of the Principal Amount or returns (profit) of this Investment depends upon the ability of the Bank to make such payments. The Investor is therefore taking the credit risk of the Bank as the issuer to the Investment.

 

Default Risk

  • The investment is not protected / not insured by Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia. The payment of redemption amount and profit amount of the investment is dependent on the ability of the issuer of Islamic Structured Products to make such payment.
